SPECIALIZED PRODUCTION RAISED THE QUALITY OF ASSITECH'S AIDS
An efficient and special production method from Dan Vals A / S meant that Norwegian Assitech A/S could offer fast delivery of a newly developed and safe aid for people with walking difficulties.
For many, the stairs can be a challenge and cause worries to fall. That is why Norwegian Assitech A / S has developed and produced activating aids for an international market within health – including the valuable stair assistant ‘AssiStep’. It consists of a handrail and a handle that provides support for the hands when going up and down stairs.
One day, Assitech would offer a relatively innovative aluminum handrail. In this way, they could keep up with the constant development in the health area. The problem was that the new product had to take into account a locking system that was embedded in the profile – without the profile changing shape.
At Dan Vals, we have been involved in the company’s development from the start and already made specially adapted productions at series level for Assitech’s different product types. With our experience, we therefore developed a special production method so that the shape of the profile did not change during rolling.
FREE STOCK AGREEMENT GAVE ASSITECH FAST DELIVERY TIME
Another challenge in the project was that Assitech would supply their new aid as soon as possible. However, they would not produce until an order was received. Therefore, they made use of a free storage agreement with Dan Vals. This meant that Assitech could have their finished items stored and thus deliver exactly when the customers wanted it. That way, Assitech’s customers got a fast delivery.
At the same time, of course, every item should be of the best quality. These were items for both the healthcare sector and items that were typically installed in private homes. In order to live up to the high requirements, Dan Vals A / S therefore focused on a high level of quality assurance. Among other things, through a careful quality control before each item was delivered on time.
The overall result meant that Assitech was able to offer a safe aid, where the locking system in the profile managed to be completely preserved after rolling. And because of the warehouse hotel, they were able to quickly supply their custom aids every time customers came with large as well as small orders. This gave Assitech a major competitive advantage over competitors in the demanding market.
